A Big, Soft, Landing

The other night Carson began feverishly gathering all the pillows and large stuffed animals from every room in the house and running them to my bedroom.  As he hurried along, he was repeating the phrase “I need to make a big, soft, landing”.  Before long, his sisters were joining in to create the above pictured monstrosity.  I was in the girls’ bedroom working on something so I did not witness the goings ons, but I did hear a bed frame creaking as if the bed was being jumped on.  I also heard a few knocks against the wall, and children’s laughter (one of my favorite sounds).  I asked Audrey to snap a few pictures.  I love that my children can be creative and easily entertained.  (They even cleaned up the mess themselves when they were done).

The Guinea Pig

Our Family’s New Favorite!

I got a delicious and easy new recipe from my hair dresser Lori.  It has been a hit in this house.  You can try it too!

Peanut Butter Rice Krispy Treats

1 Cup white Karo syrup

1 Cup sugar

1 Cup peanut butter

5 Cups Rice Krispies

Bring syrup and sugar to a slow boil.  Stir in peanut butter.  Remove from heat and add Rice Krispies.  Use tablespoon to drop onto wax paper.  Treats will harden as they cool.  (I use the Pampered Chef small scoop instead of a tablespoon).

An Afternoon at Grandma’s

Today we had fun visiting Grandma’s house.  Marc’s mom was generous enough to offer one of her spare bedrooms to house our bunkbeds until we are ready to use them again.  (Since Audrey and Grace got their new big bed we had no place for the bunks.)  It works out well since now when the kids go to overnights there, they will have their beds to sleep in and Grandma won’t have to give up her bed or take time blowing up air mattresses.  I suppose it is a win-win.  While Marc was rearranging furniture at his mom’s and putting together the bunk beds, the kids and I were swimming (sorry, no pics).  After a good dunk, we partook of $5 Hot-N-Ready’s from Little Caesar’s.  Yummy!  What a fun afternoon at Grandma’s.

Audrey is now embarrassed for her goofy expression.

Fit For A Queen

We have wonderful friends that made Audrey and Gracie’s dream come true…. A big bed for them to share!  Best sisters Audrey and Gracie insist on sleeping together every night.  It gets a little tight in a twin bed so when the opportunity of a queen size bed (for free) came, I jumped on it.  The girls are loving it and even Carson joined in on the slumber party the first night.  Oh happy day ( & night)!

Pretending to sleep (notice Carson's pose & Sophia's eyelids).

20 Years !?!

Happy 20th Anniversary (a day late) to my fabulous sister and her husband.  Congrats you guys, even though you’re not supposed to be old enough to be married that long.  We love you!
